Patrick Mahomes led a 10-play, 70-yard drive on the first possession of overtime, capped by Kareem Hunt’s two-yard touchdown run to win the game.

Mahomes completed 34 of 44 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns, his most in a game this season. Receiver DeAndre Hopkins, playing in his second game against the Chiefs, caught eight passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 200 yards and two scores in the loss. Mayfield and the Buccaneers’ offense couldn’t get on the field as Kansas City scored on its first possession of overtime.
Mahomes was on the ground clutching his left ankle and was eventually helped off the field by team trainers. But moments later he left the medical tent and ran up and down the Chiefs touchline to a loud ovation from the home team.
Monday’s game continued to go back and forth, with the lead changing hands several times before the end of the fourth quarter.
A Rashad White touchdown gave Tampa Bay a 7–3 lead in the second quarter before Hopkins scored his first of the night to give the Chiefs a 10–7 halftime lead.
The Bucs scored 10 straight points in the third before Kansas
City responded with back-to-back touchdowns in the fourth. Trailing 24–17, Mayfield kicked a 71-yard field goal with one minute and 49 seconds left in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
It was an impressive offensive performance for Tampa Bay without receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Tight end Kate Otten led the team with eight catches for 77 yards.
After a 3-1 start, the Buccaneers have lost four of their last five games and are now 4-5. They face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. The Chiefs currently lead the AFC at 8-0 and are the only undefeated team in the NFL. Their next game is at home against the Denver Broncos.
