Eagles acquired WR Jahan Dotson from Commanders

PHILADELPHIA — The Washington Commanders
traded 2022 first-round pick Jahan Dodson and
a 2025 fifth-rounder to the Philadelphia
Eagles for a 2025 seventh-rounder.
By acquiring Dodson, the Eagles acquired their
No. 1 prospect. The wide receiver trio is joined by
star receivers A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith
received long-term contract extensions this offseason.
Dodson adds another playmaker in Jalen Hurts,
flanked by Saquon Barkley and tight end Dallas Goedert.
There was a rotating group of WR3s in Philadelphia
this summer, with veterans Paris Campbell
and Britten Covey among the free agents
and newcomer Johnny Wilson making the first-team roster.
The 24-year-old Dotson led the way last
season with 49 receptions for 518 yards
and four touchdowns.
Washington selected Dotson with the 16th
pick in the 2022 draft in a trade for five points.
But even after two years, Dotson still hasn’t
become the receiver Washington needs.
In 29 career games, he caught a total of 84
passes for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Dotson failed to cement his spot as Washington’s
No. 2 receiver this summer over Terry McLaurin.
Dotson was used in a variety of positions but was

The Chiefs also have veterans Olamide Sakiyas and Jamison Crowder to play in the slot. They have been joined since camp opened by seniors Byron Pringle and Martavis Bryant; Pringle offers great size and could be a returner if added to the lineup.
