Colorado pulled off an improbable victory after Baylor’s last-second Hail Fly foul on the goal line forced overtime.
Introduction: Colorado pulled
At one point, Colorado
trailed 24-10, but in the Big
12, Colorado still loves
prime time (no joke).

The Buffaloes pulled off an
incredible comeback against
Baylor, winning their first Big
12 contest since 2010 38-31 in overtime.
After Baylor missed a
45-yard field goal and only
had two possessions, Colorado
had another chance with 2:19
left and pulled off a miracle.
In the final seconds, Plan
Sanders found a wide-open
Will Shepard at the five-yard
line, but was sacked — but
on the next play (the last
play of regulation), Sanders rolled
left and went again. The field goal
was intercepted by Lyonte
Webster as time expired and
the ensuing PAT was good, sending
the game into overtime.
Baylor won the toss in
overtime and elected to
play defense. It didn’t matter
much for Colorado as Micah
Welch kicked a field goal to
give the Buffs a 38-31 Game 7 lead.
Baylor drove hard to get to the two-point line,
Baylor drove hard to get to the two-point line, but two-way superstar Travis Hunter fumbled Dominique Richardson at the goal line — the ball ended up behind the end zone, leading to a game-ending touchback.
Colorado fans stormed the field during the play review, but they ended up not being the next “Band on the Field.”
Sanders was sacked for a combined loss of 21 yards on Colorado’s first two plays (he was also sacked seven times in the second half), which ultimately resulted in a punt out of his own end zone. That gave Baylor good field position, but the 45-yard field goal missed, forcing Colorado into overtime.
Sanders finished 25 of 41 for 341 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score. Hunter, a standout defensive player, led the way with seven receptions for 130 yards and more than 100 snaps.
The game was Colorado’s first game in the Big 12 in 14 years after spending the previous 13 seasons in the Pac-12. But they returned to the Big 12 after the previous conference folded.
